Frequently Asked Questions

When will I get my test results?
Generally, your physician will receive your test result within 3 business days. It is your physician's responsibility to review the results with you.

Why does PVH/MCR take my insurance but TIC doesn't?
The Imaging Center and PVH/MCR hold separate insurance contracts.

I was told that I have to fast before my test, should I skip my usual morning medications that day also?
No, take your medications as you normally do unless otherwise directed by your physician.

Do I need an appointment for an x-ray?
No, X-rays are done on a walk-in basis between the hours of 7:00 am and 8:00 pm Monday-Friday and 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Be sure to have your doctor's order for the x-ray in hand unless it has been faxed over for you.

Will you bill my Medicare supplement?
No, Medicare will submit claims to your supplemental insurance.

I am expecting a child and want to find out the sex and/or want to check that my baby is okay. Can I pay for my own ultrasound and schedule myself for it?
No, you cannot order your own ultrasound. The purpose of an OB ultrasound is to evaluate the health of the baby and mother. It is a medical exam that needs to be ordered for a medical reason only. We suggest you discuss the results of the ultrasound with your health care provider.

Can I videotape my ultrasound?
No, we do not provide videotapes of the examination to the parents. Upon request, we can provide you with printed images of your baby. Images of the entire examination are available to your health care provider on the PVHS Picture Archiving System (PACS).

Who does my insurance pre-authorization for my test?
The physician who requested the test will need to initiate your insurance authorization when one is necessary. Our pre-authorization coordinator will follow-up with your physician's office on the business day prior to your test to make sure preauthorization is in place.

I have an appointment with a specialist who wants me to bring my films with me. How do I get those from you?
You will need to call in a request for your films at least 24 hrs in advance so that we may prepare them for you. All images will be placed on a CD that can be easily viewed by your physician. Call (970) 282-2900 to make the request.
